Questions on Crusades

1.) What are the crusades?

A: A series of wars between Christians and Muslims fought over the land where Jesus was buried, called Palestine

2.) Who Fought In Them?

A: Christian and Muslims fought in the Crusades.

3.) Why were they fighting?

A: They were fighting over the land where Jesus was buried.

4.) What was an effect?

A: Thousands of Christians and Muslims died, but the Muslims won the war. Those were some effects of those 12 "holy wars" or Crusades.

The Crusades

The Crusades are one of the expeditions in which medieval Christian warriors fought to recover control of the holy land from the Muslims. The Christians fought the Muslims to gain control of the holy land. The Christians wanted the holy land because they think Jesus was buried there. One of the effects they got after they fought was that they brought back new foods and spices like cinnamon, cloves, mace, nutmeg, pepper, sugar and many more.

Gladiators

Gladiator fights distractions the Romans from all their problems. In our modern day the TV is the distractions from our problems. The gladiator were slaved, criminals and Christians. Gladiators were also forced to fights with each other and animals. Americans today are a little the same from the Romans because when a person fights now in modern days, he people that are watching the fights lets them fights. In Romans when the gladiator fights they also let them kill each other.

Gladiators...

Gladiator fights distracted the Romans from all their problems; which isn’t to smart. Modern day sports distract America from all their problems. For example; boxing is like gladiator fights because it involves fighting with one another. So we haven’t changed much since the time of the Romans. People, like me really like violence. People now days are a little different, because we don’t see people killing each other. Just fighting with each other.

King Phillip is the second conquers ancient Greece. King Phillip is killed by his own body guard. When he die his son Alexander the Great took over all that his father own and now he own it. Alexander the great continues conquering new lands like Persia, Egypt and India. The combination of all the conquered cultures forms a new culture called Hellenistic culture.

The word philosopher means “lover of wisdom”. The word “lovers of wisdom” means people that like to know things. the three philosophers that came after are Socrates, Plato, and Artiste. Socrates was killed because he was not giving good ideas and “Neglecting the city gods”. They made hi drink poison to die. One of the philosophers Plato wrote” The Republic “. This book was about what he thinks is a perfect world. One of the things that where use at the time and is still use to this date is scientific method.

Socrates

My Favorite Philosopher is Socrates. Socrates is my favorite philosopher because his theories make sense, in my opinion. But maybe in your opinion, he is wrong. Just think about it deeply. Socrates would ask a series of leading questions to show that people hold many contradictory opinions. This was part of his teachings.
